In response to Fred Holland's P76 Bug Story I would just like to point out a couple of points that I remember differently.
: Firstly I believe it was the late 70's when he first was bitten by the P76 love bug.
: We were driving back to Tamworth behind one of the beasts when he admired the view from the rear (always has admired a good rear) and said he was going to get himself one of those beauties.
: The kids in the back seat (me being one of them) replied "you have got to be joking, we won't be seen in one of those yank tanks" in hope that he would get over the idea (in a hurry), but this was not to be.
: I remember the day he came to pick us up from high school with his new pride and joy.
: Unbelievable that he would entertain the idea that we would want to be seen in such a tank, and in our formative years. What was he thinking! Our reputations could have been damaged for life.
: From that day on he had a zone that he was allowed to enter around the school and no excuse, not even hail permitted him to enter the forbidden zone.

: Secondly I remember the trip to Victoria but it wasn't the hot weather and overheating problem that comes to mind, it was the clutch cable breaking and being repaired on the side of the road with a piece of wire while the four kids overheated.

: My last gripe is with the fact that now he has managed to brainwash my husband into his Leyland ways and now we are the proud owners of one ourselves.

Our Dad Owns a P76 (but don't tell anyone)
