P76 $5,500 Maitland, New South Wales

10th Feb Ebay
Leyland P76 factory SUPER V8 4 Speed Air cond, power steer combo. Factory "Spanish Olive" green, but repainted "Bold as brass" yellow door jams etc also BaB, how ever factory Spanish olive green is still present under black inside boot & engine bay.
Paint has seen better days as photos show, but still holds up well as a great cruiser & conversation starter.
Body is rust & bog free in the usual places such as under the f&r screens & around fuel filler& solid battery tray. Only notable rust is the outer skin of lower L/h rear quarter where 1/4 seem meets outer wheel well skin & Inside R/h rear taillight (both pictured) clean floors, rails hanging panels.
A small section inside of bonnet webbing has been cut to accommodate larger WB Holden V8 radiator years ago by a previous owner.
Mechanically a pretty solid thing, has a minor engine oil weep, but not bad enough to look at besides a quick pressure wash at rego time..
Diff also let's out the odd drip here & there, but again not worth the effort of fixing IMO.
Fitted with an electronic ignition for more reliability.
Interior in the past has had a fabric retrim in a design that really suits the colour & design of the factory door trims.
Excellent carpet.
Hoodlining is a bit tatty in the lower sides of back windscreen & dash is cracked above gauge cluster. Starts & runs much nicer on LPG than petrol, as I assume fuel tank is very dirty judging by many replacement fuel filters.
Fuel gauge doesn't work on either fuel.
Retains the famous Leyland "Right twice a day clock" also sports the front passenger window detached from the winding mechanism feature that it probably left the Zetland factory with in June of 73, if you want to fix this you can do it when you reattach the mirror that some bastard broke off it's pivoting mount in the local Woolworths car park pushing a trolley beside it I assume??
(Joys of a classic daily driver)
Air Cond clicks in but hasn't been cold since last year, regas???
Registered in NSW 06/04/2018 expiry and able to renew online for 6 months in April without a pink slip (nsw rwc).
GJN sequence number plates indicate this was likely the plate number issued when new (Rego plates have been remade though) Drives decent, but shocks are stuffed.
It's reliable & I have driven it to Brisbane & back with a car & trailer behind me.
Happy to assist in transport on my end at buyers expense,
$5500 FIRM WON'T NEGOTIATE AT ALL.
INBOX ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED & WE'LL EXCHANGE NUMBERS ETC
