St George is a regional town of South Western Queensland.

Map from Queensland Main Roads
The town lies about 500 kilometers from Brisbane on 'Highway 49' on the Balonne River.

A monument to the early explorer Mitchell who was able to find a way across the Balonne river, over a natural stone bridge. The crossing of the river coincided with "St George Day".

The bridge/weir blocks the Balonne River and supplies the town with water a lake and is used for the water supply

The landscaping of the above area has been done in conjunction with the Queensland Corrective Services and the Local Council. The area is known as the W.O.R.C. park.
