South Australian Leyland P76 Owners - 2003

March 2004

Well here is the start of the beginning of our restoration on the P76 we loving refer to as "The Beast", we called it this name because the first time we saw the car the only thing we could say was wow what a beast and it stuck.
As you can see from the first photo we sent to you the roo bar has been removed and will not be going back onto it as we said before, we decided the car looks much better without it and ofcourse has a much cleaner and classic lines to the font without the bar. Other mods will be done inside the car and will not be evident until the project is finished and we take photos for the website.

HI Adrian,
This is our P76 we have had it since Nov 2002 but have only got it back on the road after having trouble with a vibration which turned out to be a uni joint costing $45.
The history of the car is that it belonged to a guy who lived south of us, he had it for we think 2-3yrs and he took it to Darwin hence the roo bar prior to that we think it belonged to Anton Frank a member or past member of the SA P76 Club.
We are nw in the throws of redoing the car the bar is off as the car is on historic rego but in 2 yrs time it will come off that as it's on gas and we have no intension of getting rid of that a V8 on petrol is not our cup of tea, car P is one of the if not the best and most comfortable cars that my wife and I have owned and driven and both of us have been chaing after one for years so when this P came alng we jumped at it, we also intend to do much more modifications to it once it's off historic rego and plan to drive around Oz in it so the roo bar will eventualy go back on it.
Regards
