Easy way to remove back shock absorbers
- Some time back I asked whether anyone had done a mod to the the inside of the car so as to get to the top nuts of the rear shock absorbers.
- I alway found this to be quite difficult.
- Especially the left hand side as you need to pull have the rear end off.
- I have just found out that this mod was done by the owner of my latest car.
- This mod makes the removal of the shock absorber easy.
- 1/ the lower seat is removed by taking out the two screws in the floor pan.
- 2/ the back seat is removed by undoing the eight locking nut and washers from inside the boot. Pull the rear seat fowardto remove the backseat.
I placed a ruler on top so that you can find the location
The previous owner made up these plates to cover the holes. When I replaced them I sealed them using some selastic.
On my other car you can see where the shockabsorber bolt has dinted the body work.
I also found it easier to get the new shocks in by lifting the body with a jack, increasing the distance between the diff and body.
