In 1973 Reg Morrisey (Morrisey Motors) had the Leyland agency, Parker Street Cootamundra, in what is now the Elders Building.
In 1975 Reg moved to Sutton Street the agency then being Nissan, but still servicing Leyland vehicles including the P76.
Leyland P76’s sold by Reg were.
Vern Ash Bold as Brass, 4 speed V8 manual (demo) 1st on the road, in Cootamundra.
Gerald Bassingwaighte Spanish Olive Executive, V8 Auto.
Dave Mickie Country Cream V8 4 speed.
Frank Walsh 6cyl. 4 speed manual Spanish Olive.
Bob Bryant V8 manual 4 speed.
Brian Fuller 6 Cyl. Manual, 4 speed Spanish Olive.
Jock Hamilton V8 White.
Bill Johnson, white V8, 4 speed.
McDougall, white V8, 4 speed.
Reg only ever saw one station Wagon and went out along the road to take a photo of it when he was told one was coming though on a test drive.
It was country cream and came through Cootamundra prior to the aborted release of the Leyland P76 station wagon in 1974.
Unfortunately all Reg’s Leyland P76 photos have been destroyed.
Mr. North was the manager at Leyland Zetland when Reg was the dealer.
Reg said “overnight they were told Leyland had closed and were left with all the parts”.
Oh to have those parts now.
Reg resides in the Cootamundra Nursing home.
Member Ray Douglas pictured worked with Reg as a mechanic for many years.

Saturday12 February, 2005 members of the Country P76 Club being, Fred & June Holland,
Ray Douglas and Michael & Gwen Livingstone, visited the Cootamundra Retirement Village to Present Patron Reg Morrisey with a Country P76 shirt.
Reg accepted the shirt and after some photos to commemorate the occasion discussed the Leyland P76’s that he had sold and serviced in Cootamundra. Reg has an increable memory and with Ray Douglas who used to work with Reg we were able to get the details given in our other article on
The Leyland P76’s sold in Cootamundra.
We are trying to track down all of these vehicles. One of the vehicles Dave Mickies country cream was bought by Fred Holland and has now been restored by his son-in-law and daughter members Jim & Susan Hugo Wallendbeen.
