Victorian P76 Owners

Morgan B

I’ve had my bold as brass for 13 years, it was my second car after an Austin 1800.
I got it from Heyfield and it was modified already.
It was a deluxe with bench and column manual but is now buckets with 4 on the floor, small engine, exhaust and suspension mods came soon after and has remained unchanged since, it is now in the shed getting ready for some cancer and paint treatment, this may take a few years and turn into something bigger yet who knows.
I have purchased and sold two Leyland’s since, both in average condition, but they served there purpose, the last one that I got was from Tasmania, my dad was on holidays and found it for $1000.
I said ok sight unseen and he ferried it home and drove it to my house, to my horror it was closer to a Flintstones car than a P76, was going to scrap it because of the work involved but my brother needed a car so we set about fixing it with the Victorian clubs help, namely Mark Wittaker, almost got it on the road when my bro lost his job and we couldn’t finish it.
He owed me money for it still so I kept it.
I was going to sell it but now I’m finding out it might be the only one, so I’m getting more and more attached to it. Still have not managed to make it to a national Easter show yet as I was short on funds one year when it was close and the other times my car was not on the road.
Still on the to do list.
I am still friends with all of the Victorian committee that I served with but have not seen them in a few years since moving to the country and waited till now to renew my interest, might even join a club again soon.....hope this is useful,
Morgan
